As we all are, I am shaped by my experiences.  I grew up as a child in the foreign service, living in and traveling throughout numerous countries overseas.  By the time I moved back to the U.S. for college, I felt more lik a citizen of the world than an American!  I still try to maintain that open-minded, curious spirit that I developed with that lifetime exposure to many cultures.

I've always been drawn to alternative medicine, "alternative" fitness styles (I first began Tai Chi in ninth grade!) and indigenous healing modalities.  While studying psychology in college I took a grad level course on Alternative Medicine, which furthered my belief that there are hundreds, if not thousands, of options for truly healing the self - often without invasive western medical intervention.

Soon thereafter I learned Reiki and new worlds started to open up for me.  I realized my perpetual sensitivity could actually be a gift.  That I could feel and sense things that others could not.  I began to understand that everything - absolutely everything - in and around us is energy.  The thoughts we think, the food we eat, the emotions we express, the music we listen to.  I started to wake up to how profound this is for everyone - all of humanity, really!  The implications are massive.

And yet, before I could fully realize my dream of offering healing services to the public, I found myself living in the corporate world with a restless spirit.  For many years I pushed myself in work not suited to who I am, resulting in total drainage.  Once my health began to suffer, I knew - it was time to break free.  Following my heart had always been of the utmost importance and I finally chose to honor it.  And here we are, at Namaste Spirit.

In our modern, fast-pace society, a vast majority of people are never taught how to care for themselves energetically.  Many of us go through our daily lives without regard to how our "energetic" choices can effect ourselves and others.  Unbeknownst to us, we are influenced by the energy around us every single day.

And hence, part of the mission I carry through Namaste Spirit is to teach, learn and share ideas on how to better care for ourselves and our world, through the realm of energy...  and hopefully heal ourselves in the process.
